Fashion Shoot!
Okay so I wasn't going to put any pictures on my blog from my fashion shoot but I have decided to do it now since some people have been asking me about it:D My models were two of my friends who do Dancing and Cheerleading. I done my shoot across three days. I had a go at the photography myself and actually quite enjoyed it. I also choose the outfits that Lori and Casey are wearing. The clothes that my models are wearing were borrowed from my work(Internacioanle) and also from my own wardrobe. The accessories and jewellery were Lori and Caseys own. My theme was Dance but I wanted the pictures to have that old fashion look. The location was quite hard to find and get right I think I done okay. My sister who is qualifued in hair and make up done the models hair and make up for the shoots. The weather wasn't great, was so cold!! Felt very sorry for my models but I suppose in the real world of fashion photography you have to get on with it regardless but we all enjoyed the day. Here is some of the pictures from across the three days.......

Cheryl Cole!
Cheryl Cole is one celebrity that is always on style and hardly ever gets it wrong as the critics would say! I love her style as its very girly. She always looks glamourous and immaculate. She is also the face of L'oreal for their hair products which again couldn't be more perfect for her as her hair is never out of place. She is always making sure she is on trend and wearing the latest designs for different designers. Last year at this time she was spotted wearing the 1970's look before it was even on the high street but this was forecasted to be massive in 2011 which now, we all now is correct. Her appearance is everything, if she ever had a bad day then the paparazzi would never let her live this down. She is a big style icon and alot of her fans look up to her for it. When she was on the x factor, we all couldn't wait to see what her and Dannii Minogue were wearing and who wore it best!
Here are a few of my favourite outfits worn by Cheryl Cole:
Here are a few of my favourite outfits worn by Cheryl Cole:
Here Cheryl is wearing a bright yellow dress at the brit awards in 2008 where she stood out on the red carpet and also stole the limelight that night as she contrasted her dress with bright pink lipstick and an animal print bag which of course made a statement. |
Here she wore this revealing dress with a very low back showing off some of her tattoos. This caused controversy as many had views that the tattoos showing made the dress look tacky and rough looking and also that she looked great from the front but from behind it looked tacky. |
At the Brits in 2009. Dress by Georges Chakra and Jimmy Choos Shoes |
Wearing Herve Leger bandage dress, this got many people green with envy as you could imagine as many thought she had the perfect figure in this dress. |
Performing on the X Factor wearing Julien Macdonald. This was the performance that got the nation talking for many reasons but it was a definite fashion moment for Cheryl as the military trend came back into fashion, this was a big deal for many retailers as they were promoting "Steal her Style" and also across loads of magazines was spreads about military mode and many fans where inspired by her look. |
British Fashion Awards 2011!
So the British Fashion Awards were held in London this week and a very proud Victoria Beckham was the owner of the award winning designer brand gong! This came as a shock to the designer, after many years of trying to achieve a high fashion clothing line. Victoria was overwhelmed by the night, as this will be one of her biggest achievements. She beat top line designers like Stella McCartney, Burberry and Tom Ford. Below, a victorious Victoria is posing with Marc Jacobs.

Top designer Stella McCartney may have been beaten by Victoria Beckham however the famous designer didn't leave empty handed, she won the Red Carpet Award which is not surprising as alot of celebrity's are wearing her designers more often than ever on the red carpet.

*...Christmas Sparkle...*
So it's getting to that time of year again where we are all running about doing last minute shopping but lets not forget the nights out, festive spirit and the frustration to find that perfect outfit. It's the one time of year you can really go crazy with the SPARKLE!! Sequins and Glitter are the key trend during the Christmas period and its the perfect party season. If you cant afford a whole new outfit then why not just team up your favourite little black dress with a new pair of sequin shoe boots or heels and let your feet do the talking!!!......Sequin and glitter accessories will create a statement on their own as they are very eye catching and they also stand out from the crowd. Here are a few pieces that I personally like from various websites.......................................

Versace has arrived at H&M!
As I'm sure all you fashionist's would have heard by now that Versace has launched a collection in H&M. Unfortunately the two Dundee stores are not stocking this range and neithier is Aberdeen:(. I think the nearest store is Edinburgh. The collection is great and I think its good that a high street retailer have invested in this range as many of you would agree and myself(a poor student) we cant afford to buy expensive designer garments all the time. I think it is great advertising for H&M as a company as they will expanding their customer profile and I think alot of us will percieve them as a much improved retailer after this launch. Have a nosey online if you havent already but here are a few of my favourite pieces from the collection........................

Halloween!!:D
Okay! So I know this is a bit late but I only started working on my blog a few days ago so here is what my friend and I dressed up as at halloween. Halloween is a great opportunity to dress up and be creative as much as you can. We went as Space Cadets and I made the necklaces for us to wear. I also made the knee pads I'm wearing out of the boot covers that came with my outfit. I didn't like the boot covers as they make your feet look massive but most importantly I couldnt get them over my boots!! Ooppss!! so out came the sewing box and I made them into knee pads instead.

Fashion Shoot
So for my fashion shoot I have decided to do a dance theme. My models will be modeling fashion but be in dance poses. I am aiming for the pictures to look very feminine and old fashioned. I have chosen three locations back in Dundee which at brought ferry castle, the glass pavilion in Baxter's Park and also the city square in the town centre. I am borrowing clothes from my work(internacionale) and also from my own wardrobe:).
Fashion and Me
Three words to describe your overall sense of style?
Girlie, Pretty and Trendy
Who is your favourite high street retailer?
River Island
What is your favourite category of clothing to wear?
Dresses
What was the last article of clothing or accessory you purchased?
A chocolate brown winter duffle coat. However thinking about returning it as I am not sure I like it.
What is your Favorite shopping destination?
London but I would love to visit New York.
What are your Three favourite materials?
At the moment they are fur, lace and denim.
How would you describe your winter look?
Knitwear dresses with tights and boots. Jumpers and jeans with accessories. I’m also loving shoe boot wedges at the moment , I can’t stop buying them, they are so comfy. I also don’t like dressing very casual so I think the wedges can sometimes take the casual look away from my winter wardrobe which is perfect as I think winter fashion is always seen as more casual than smart.
If someone handed you $10,000 where would you blow it?
Go on a massive shopping spree and buy products from expensive designers that I couldn’t normally afford e.g Chanel, D&G, Harrods. I would also still purchase goods from the retailers I normally shop at e.g. River Island, Topshop, H&M and New Look etc.
What does Fashion mean to you?
Fashion means individuality to me as it is something you can impress your personality and feelings through. Everyone sees fashion in many different ways as it is not just about being on trend with the latest looks, it’s about who you are. It has influenced the world throughout the years and so many people have became fashions icons e.g. Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe. They will influence fashion for years to come.
Here are a few pictures from when I was in London(Madame Tuassuads) last year for the weekend..................
